alazony (AL-uh-zah-nee) - n., (rare) failure to recognize irony.

Whether through arrogance, misplaced self-confidence, or a lack of self-awareness. The person who has it is apparently an alazon. This mostly comes up, when it does at all, in the context of literary criticism -- I'm guessing as a term to sling at other critics -- and showed up on my radar thanks to the OED. In Medieval Latin alazonia was boastfulness, from Greek alazoneia, boastfulness/imposture, from alazon, boast.
