mangabey (MANG-guh-bey) - n., any of about a dozen species over two genera of slender forest-dwelling monkeys of Africa, one genus (Cercocebus) being chiefly terrestrial species, the other (Lophocebus) being chiefly arboreal species.


Closely related to macaques, mandrills, and baboons.
