betwixt

betwixt - adv. and prep., (chiefly south Midland and southern U.S.) in the space which separates, between.

Often heard in the phrase "betwixt and between," which is not so much a distinction as intensification -- meaning neither here nor there in a dilemma sense. More or less the same origin as between, but with a different case ending plus an extra -t.
