pteropine
pteropine ('te-roh-PEYEN) - adj., of, pertaining to, or resembling flying foxes.
That is, those larger bats of the genus Pteropus, also known as fruit bats. The genus name comes from Greek roots pteron, wing + pous, foot -- in contrast to pterodactyl, wing + fingers. (Interestingly, and I had not known this, pteropines do not have echolocation, what with their prey being sessile.)
