ballotine
ballotine (BAH-loh-teen) - n., a boned piece of meat or fish, esp. poultry, rolled around a stuffing, tied into a bundle, and roasted or braised.
Traditionally, a boned chicken leg stuffed with another kind of meat and then reformed into its original shape, or sometimes into something like an egg -- from whence its name, from the French diminutive of ballotte, a rolled and stuffed meat, itself already a diminutive of balle, bundle, from Old French bale from Germanic roots (cognate of English bale and ball). Compare turducken.
