moschatel

moschatel (mos-kuh-TEL, MOS-kuh-tel) - n., an herbaceous perennial, Adoxa moschatellina, having greenish-white or yellowish flowers with a musky odor.

A temperate woodland plant of Eurasia and North America. Also called hollowroot, five-faced bishop, and townhall clock -- the latter two because of its five flowers, arranged four pointing sideways at right angles to each other and one facing upwards. From French moscatelle, from Italian moscatella, feminine diminutive of moscato, musk, from Late Latin muscus.
