murine (MYOOR-ain, MYOOR-in) - adj., of, pertaining to, or resembling a rat or mouse. n., any member of the family Muridae.
Which basically means any mouse, rat, or gerbil. Sometimes it's used slightly more restrictively as members of the subfamily Murinae, which is the Old World rats and mice proper (so excluding gerbils and other rat- and mouse-like rodents). Adopted from Latin mūrīnus, of mice, from the genitive of mūs, mouse.
