lairage

lairage (LAIR-edj) - n., accommodation for farm animals, esp. in transit to market or slaughterhouse.

Temp resting place. This seems to be entirely British English usage, or if it's used in American English, it's rare enough to rarely appear in American dictionaries. From lair in the sense of resting place for animals -- which sounds odd today, but it used to apply more than just predators.
