mundungus

mundungus (muhn-DUHN-guhs) - n., (obs.) offal, waste animal product; (arch.) poor-quality, foul-smelling tobacco.

The latter sense is pretty much obs. outside of historical novels, but the former is decidedly not used any more -- though thanks to Mundungus Fletcher, who was indeed deliberately named, maybe it'll make something of a comeback. The word dates to 1641, taken from Spanish mondongo, tripe/entrails, of uncertain but possibly Arabic origin.
