millefleur

millefleur (MEEL-flur, MEEL-floor) - adj., having a background pattern of stylized flowers and plants.

As started in tapestries:

Unicorn amid millefleur
Thanks, WikiMedia!

Often done against a dark green field. From French, clearly, literally thousand flowers. (The term is also sometimes used for millefiori, a type of decorative glassware, which is the Italian form of the same phrase.)
