annulus

annulus - n., a ring-shaped figure, such as a tree-ring or the space between two concentric circles in a plane.

Or possibly also a toroidal figure. And definitely also the veil remnant on a mushroom stalk. From Latin ānulus, finger ring, diminutive of ānus, ring.
