parallax - n., the apparent displacement of a body due to a change of position of the observer; esp., in astronomy, the apparent angular displacement of a celestial body due to the earth's motion about the sun.

From French parallaxe, from Greek parallaxis, from parallassein, to change, from para-, beside, + allassein,to change, from allos, other. A something 1 parsec away has a parallax of 1 arc-second.

Yiddishkeit week will return in a little while. There's many more.
