exiguous

exiguous - adj., scanty, meager, inadequate.

From Latin exiguus, strictly weighed, with a sense of too strictly weighed, from exigere, to determine, decide, weigh.

De nada.

I've seen the word, but don't always use it correctly.

I always associate the word with the quote "The Astronomer Royal's duties are so exiguous that they could be performed posthumously." Dunno if that's a proper usage, based on your definition.
