littoral - adj., of, pertaining to, or inhabiting the shore of a lake, sea, or ocean; the region between the low and high tide marks.

On day, I will get to use the phrase "literal littoral," and my purpose in life will be fulfilled. In English from the 17th century, from Latin littoralis, from the genative litoris of litus, seashore, of unknown origin.

So "between the salt water and the sea strand" might be a littoral place?

But not a literal one?

I think it could be both.
