saturnine - adj., melancholy or sullen; having or marked by a tendency to be bitter or sardonic.


Moody, morose, dour (not Eeyore, though -- he's more melancholic). Saturn being the coldest and most remote planet from the Sun in medieval astro[nom/log]y, so of course these would be the characteristics of those born under its influence.
