Dec. 11th, 2006 07:17 amlemniscate - n., any of several curves in the shape of a figure 8 on its side, especially the symbol for infinity ( ∞ ).
From Latin lemniscatus, adorned with ribbons, from lemniscus, a ribbon hanging down, from Greek lemniskos. I think the image is a looped ribbon a la the pink breast cancer symbol.
