saury - n., any of several slender long-beaked fish of the family Scomberesocidae, related to needlefish.
Good eating, especially grilled. From New Latin saurus, lizard, from Greek sauros; however, cf. saurel (a type of mackerel), where Greek saûros is defined as sea fish.
