cedi / litu / rei / tex / tola
Apr. 25th, 2008 07:47 amI'm going to do some of the words from the bag all together, as a thematic group:
cedi - n., the basic monetary unit of Ghana.
litu - n., plural of litas, a former silver coin of Lithuania.
rei - n., a former coin of Portugal, equivalent to the Spanish real.
tex - n., a unit of yarn or fiber density, equal to 1 g per kilometer length or 1 mg/m.
tola - n., an Indian unit of weight, equal to the weight of a silver rupee, 180 troy grains, or about 11.7 g.
And that ends this week of Words My True Love Gave Me. There's about one more week of odd-and-ends left over, but first, back to a week of regular mixed-up posting.
