guayabera - n., a usually short-sleeved lightweight sport shirt designed to be worn untucked.
Often with large pockets and pleats down the front -- the sometimes-called "Mexican wedding shirt". Outside of Mexico, it's believed to be of Cuban (or at least Caribbean) origin; in Mexico, it's believed to be from Yucatan. From American Spanish, but the origin after that is obscure -- possibly from yayabero, someone who lives on the Yayabo River in Cuba, or possibly because the large pockets are for carrying guavas.
