goniochromism
Feb. 21st, 2011 07:18 amgoniochromism - n., iridescence.
Extremely rare: I wasn't able to find any dictionary with this, but I did find examples in the wild independent of Wikipedia -- mostly in dissertations in optics. So I tentatively accept Wikipedia's etymology, which is from Greek roots gonia, angle + chroma, color -- that is, color that changes depending on angle, which is actually a slightly more general a phenomenon than iridescence.
