trypophobia
Jun. 27th, 2011 07:12 amtrypophobia (TREYE-poh-foh-bee-ah) - n., fear of holes, esp. clusters of holes.
Supposedly. This is a recent coinage (as in about six years ago), and it's not clear whether it was coined in earnest as opposed to an attempt to invent a word. There's enough reports of people claiming to have it, or to at least find clusters of holes unsettling, that it may stick. Possibly we may even one day get a study validating its a real phobia. At least the roots are impeccable: trypa is Greek for hole.
