lungi or lungee (LOONG-gee, LOON-jee) - n., a long strip of brightly patterned fabric worn in south Asia as an article of clothing (as a sarong/skirt, loincloth, sash, turban, and so on).
Different regions use it different ways, but sarong is the most common use -- Wikipedia has details. Borrowed into English around 1630 from Hindi/Urdu lungī, from Persian lung.
