erinaceous (er-uh-NAY-shuhs) - adj., of, pertaining to, or resembling a hedgehog.


Hedgehogs being, of course, adorable insectivores most closely related to shrews, and not rodents at all. Coined in the 18th century from Latin ērināceus, hedgehog.
