ambivert (AM-bi-vurt) - n., someone who is intermediate between extrovert and introvert.
Acknowledging the ambivert is acknowledging that personality traits are a continuum, and rejecting a false binary. Coined in 1927 on the model of extrovert and introvert, with Latin root ambi-, both (as in on both sides), where the the -vert is from Latin vertere, to turn (as in to turn outward or inward).
