pyknic (PIK-nik) - adj., having a stocky, rounded build.
What's now more commonly (though not so much any more) called a mesomorph. shorter, muscled, but well-padded (especially in middle age). Can also be a noun for such a person. Coined in 1921 by German psychiatrist Ernst Kretschmer from Greek puknos, thick.
