antithalian (an-tee-THAL-ee-an) - adj., opposed to fun and festivity.


That is, against Thalia, the Greek muse of comedy. A very rare word: the OED has a single 1818 citation, to Nightmare Abbey by Thomas Love Peacock, who apparently coined it; Wiktionary adds a second usage in the wild. Sounds like a good descriptor for Malvolio.
