ceiba (SAY-buh) - n., a large deciduous tropical tree (Ceiba pentandra) with a spiny trunk and palmate leaves, which is cultivated for its pods containing silky fibers and small edible seeds.
Also better known in English as kapok and silk-cotton tree -- ceiba is the Spanish name (probably from Taino, but we're not sure) while kapok is from Malay.

Thanks, WikiMedia!
