brumous (BROO-muhs) - adj,, misty, foggy.
Also, but this is a minor sense, wintery. Short shameful confession: I queued this thinking that was the primary sense, but no, I was confusing brumous with brumal, and they are in fact not synonyms. I was wanting a word that meant wintery, in honor of a week of forecast record and near-record high temperatures leading up to the summer solstice, but that's not what I've got. Mind you, foggy sounds really nice right now. In fact, here's a lovely brumous day:

From either Old Occitan [form not given] or Old French brumeux, foggy/hazy/misty, both from Late Latin brūmosus, wintry, from Latin brūma, winter solstice/winter, from *brevima (diēs), shortest (day).
