ishkabibble or ish kabibble (ISH-kuh-bib-ul) - inter., so what, who cares.

Reputed to be from Yiddish, where it means something closer to "I should care?" but the etymology is confused and it's possible Yiddish got it from the English slang, as there's no good trace a German (or any other language) source -- suggestions include nicht gefiedelt, not flustered, and ich kaan bedibbert, I am abashed. The one solid datum is the proximate source is a 1913 song "Isch Gabibble (I Should Worry)" by Sam M. Lewis (lyrics) and George W. Meyer (music), which was the inspiration for Ish Kabibble, the stage name of cornet player Merwyn Bogue in Kay Kyser's big band orchestra.
