Could take any form from only workers have the franchise to various forms of dictatorships of the proletariat. Worker-owned-and-run businesses are local ergatocracies. Coined in the early 20th century from Ancient Greek ergatēs, a workman (from ergon, work) + -kratía, rule/governance (from krátos, power).
