bada-bing bada-boom or bada-bing - (U.S.) inter., expressing that something is effortlessly achieved, sudden, or impressive.

Many spelling/punctuation variants. I associate this with Italian-American English, and indeed its first appearance is in a 1958 routine by comedian Pat Cooper (stage name of Pasquale Vito Caputo), and it was popularized in the Godfather movies and then again in The Sopranos. Despite this, there appears to be no Italian antecedent -- origin is often speculated to be onomatopoetic of two things clicking together, which, well, maybe? The shorter form is the primary entry in more dictionaries than the longer one, but the longer one is a longer phrasal lexeme so I'm putting that first. Also, first interjection I've run in a long time -- I should do more.

And just because I love you, I'll round out this theme week with a bonus phrasal lexeme that has even more variants: na-na na-na boo-boo. Back next week with the random usual mix.
