Or more specifically, to the family Cyprinidae, which includes carp, true minnows, loaches, dace, and, of course, goldfish. Before writing this up, I'd known they're toothless but not that they're stomachless as well -- no idea how that works. From the name of the family, from Greek κυπρῖνος (kyprînos), carp -- though how cyprus (or Cyprus) and carp are associated, I don't know.
And that wraps it up for C week. Though now I want a cookie.
