brumal (BROO-mal) - adj., of, pertaining to, characteristic of, or occurring in winter.
Wintry! Borrowed in 1513 or so from Latin brūmālis, pertaining to winter, originally pertaining to the winter solstice, from brūma, winter, originally the winter solstice, a contraction of brevima (diēs), shortest (day). Brume, a literary word for fog or mist, is also from brūma, as is Brumaire, the second month of the French Republican calendar.
