soigné (saw-NYAY) - adj., well-groomed, sleek; elegantly designed or operated.


A strong sense of fashionable in there as well. It's French, of course, and you can pronounce it Anglicized or as Frenchly as you wish (or can manage). You also have the choice of using the feminine form soignée when talking about a woman. Borrowed in 1821 from French, from the past participle of soigner, to take care of, from a German root meaning care, ultimately from PIE *h₁es-, to be.
