gratulation
Nov. 30th, 2015 08:02 amgratulation (grach-uh-LEY-shuhn) - n., a feeling of joy and satisfaction, especially at one's good fortune.
And a congratulation is a feeling of joy along with another, for their good fortune. This is now rare, though it's not clear it was ever as common as its con- form. The verb form is, of course, gratulate, which looks even more misspelled than this noun. From Latin grātulātiō, past participle of grātulor, to give thanks/show joy.
