prognostalgia (prog-nos-TAL-jya) - n., nostalgia for an unrealized future that was predicted in the past.
Every time you ask "Where's my jetpack?" you touch on this, as you do when you wish for those 15-hour-weeks optimistically forecast by some thinkers. Earliest known citation is from 2009, a coinage blending prognostication + nostalgia. It's useful to have a word for the concept, but it'd be nice to have a more easily pronounceable one.
