rizzar (RIZ-er) - (Scot.) v., to dry or cure (meat, fish, etc.) in the sun. n., food so dried, especially a haddock.


Which last is oddly specific, but there you go. It's also very strictly Scottish English use. Origin is uncertain, but possibly from French ressoré, dried in the sun (in a now obsolete form).
