tit-babbler or tit babbler (TIT-BAB-lr) - n., any of seven species (genera Mixornis and Macronus, of the babbler family) of small passerine birds of South and Southeast Asia.

The dapper gentleman above is the pin-striped tit-babbler (Mixornis gularis). There are currently accounted 58 species in family Timaliidae (which doesn't include all the babblers) including tit-babblers and wren-babblers -- from which you might infer that the tit part of the name is from a resemblance to tits, as in the bird. The babbler part is apparently from their song.

Ya. Every time the bird "tit" is mentioned, the kid (who is 10) goes "Hey YO!" with the tone reserved for flagging topics inappropriate for children (which is basically anything sexual, including innuendo they actually catch).
