hornero (hor-NE-roh) - n., any of eight species of passerine birds (genus Furnarius) native to South America.

Also called ovenbirds and (rarer) bakerbirds, and all three names come from the resemblance of their mud nests to wood-fired ovens -- horno is Spanish for oven, and hornero means baker. (The genus name also means baker, only in Latin.) Nothing to do with being randy, though I'm sure they are during mating season.

rufus hornero (Furnarius rufus)
