olinguito (oh-ling-GWEE-toh) - n., a nocturnal tropical arboreal mammal (Bassaricyon neblina) closely related to olingos.

Thanks, WikiMedia!
Identified as a separate species from olingos in 2013 -- among other distinguishing features, it lives exclusively in the Andean mountains of Columbia and Ecuador, while olingos live only in lowlands. Not a whole lot is known about them due to being nocturnal, reclusive, and living in remote and rugged habitats. The name is the Spanish diminutive of olingo, so "little olingo," despite being pretty much the same size.
And that wraps up a week of 'coon cuz, interesting procyonids -- back next week with the usual mix of unsorted words. (Never fear, more themes are planned.)
