antelucan (an-tuh-LOO-kuhn) - adj., arch., before dawn.


Archaic and even when in use rare, but still potentially useful as a poeticism. Taken in 1609 from Latin antelucanus, from ante-, before + lux, light + adjectival ending. Going by the root, you might get away with using it to mean before enlightenment.
