xippie - n., a young person adopting the lifestyle of the hippies of the 1960s.
Blend of Generation X and hippie -- and I call shenanigans. I'm a leading-edge GenXer, and when I was a young person, I heard a lot of smack-talk from olds about my cohort, and am firmly confident that if this had been a real word, I would have heard it -- for there were indeed some hippie-wannabes in my cohort. Friends, this was an entirely new word for me, and searches fail to find it applied in any meaningful way, only entries in slang dictionaries. Maybe it showed up in a snarky opinion column somewhere and stuck around long enough to make it into a glossary, but I'm declaring this dead on arrival.
Bonus word: xyz (pronounced with each letter named) (that's entirely real: I learned it on the schoolyard, and from my mother, and have taught it to my kid)
Reminder: Continuing with the last two letters next week, before wandering off into the unsorted undergrowth.
