droukit or drookit or drouket and other spellings (DROO-kit) - (Scot.) adj., drenched, soaking wet.


Or at least Scottish origin, as it has sometimes been used in North England and humorously in the rest of the U.K. This comes from the strictly Scottish verb drouk, to soak, of uncertain origin but commonly assumed to be Old Norse, possibly drukna, drowned, or drykkr, to drink.
