sciurine - adj., or, pertaining to, or resembling a squirrel.


Or more specifically, any member of the Sciuridae, the family of rodents that includes squirrels. Alternate form is sciurid. Pronounced with an initial consonant like scissors. From Latin sciƫrus, squirrel, of course.

I love it -- an actual $20 word for squirrely.

Ooh - didn't know how to pronounce that. I already semi-knew "Sciuridae" - El Goonish Shive has quite a sciurid past ;) - so this is a nice addition.
