From the mid-16th century. Etymologically, this, prick, and prank all seem to be somehow, confusingly related -- in any case, there are related Dutch and German words such as pranken and pronken, from whence the English come.

So, what about primp? Is it etymologically related?

Doesn't look like it -- primp is not only later (late 18th century) but seems to be an alteration of prim, itself of uncertain origin but possibly ultimately from a variation on prime as in first-rate.
