fescennine - adj., scurrilous, obscene.


Originally, in Latin, ribald songs sung at weddings in Fescennium, a town in Etruria. It became a style of poetry, then shifted to the typical manner of same. Entered English in 1601, give or take five years, making it another of the 17th century. Stress on the first syllable.
