anamnesis - n., the act of recalling to mind (a memory); the complete medical history of a patient; "a prompt immune response to a previously encountered antigen, characterized by more rapid onset and greater effectiveness of antibody and T cell reaction than during the first encounter, as after a booster shot in a previously immunized person"; a prayer in the Eucharistic service recalling the Passion, Resurrection, and Ascension of Christ.

Lots of technical meanings in that one. The immunology one, the quote is from the Random House Unabridged Dictionary. From Latin, from Greek anámnésis, remembrance, from ana-, towards + mimnēskein, to recall. Bonus word!

artesian - adj., (of water) rising to the surface under hydrostatic pressure.

From French puits artésien, wells of Artois, a province with wells of this type. And that wraps it up for A Week.
