pomace - n., the pulpy or dry residue from fruit, seeds, or fish after it has been crushed to extract the juice or oil.


Especially, and originally, of apple, but also commonly the mash of grapes after being pressed for wine, and also olives that've been pressed for oil. From Middle English pomis, from Medieval Latin pōmācium, cider, from Vulgar Latin pōma or pōmum, apple.
