atychiphobia

Not to be confused with kakorrhaphiophobia, which is closer to fear of defeat (which is how I feel about trying to pronounce it). When atychiphobia reached morbid levels, it can cause such risk-avoidance as to severely limit the person's life. From Greek roots, natch, atyches meaning unfortunate.
