oeillade - n., a glance of the eye, especially an amorous one; ogle.


Pronounced œ-YAD, or if you can manage it with a more fully French pronunciation -- for from French it came, though I must say for a word we swiped around 1592 it's remarkably un-anglicized. From Middle French œillade, from oeil eye, from Old French oil, from Latin oculus, and thus a cognate of ogle, only the latter is from the Germanic branch of the IE family.
